"Judy can pat the bunny. Now YOU pat the bunny." Soundfamiliar? Pat the Bunny is a part of childhood, as soothing ascocoa and animal crackers.Dorothy Kunhardt's interactive book forbabies and toddlers was one of the first of its kind when it waspublished in 1940, and it has since sold over six million copies. Wepat the soft fur of the bunny, play peek-a-boo, look in the mirror, and then do it all over again. (And again and again and again.) Afteryou Pat the Bunny with your baby, why not Pat the Catand Pat the Dog? These two sequels were written by EdithKunhardt, the daughter of the author of the original book. Both usethe same tried-and-true Pat the Bunny format: sturdy cardboardpages with eight activities that wee ones can explore, from sniffingsome brownies, to squeaking a teddy bear, to unfastening Grandma'stennis shoe. The simple line drawings and pastel colors don't do muchfor adults, but somehow they are just right for babies. This boxed setis a fine choice for a baby gift or first birthday present, and alifesaver on a long car trip. (Baby to preschool) --MarcieBovetz

- Love this Book!
I love this book for little babies! This is the second one that I bought. The first won just survived the frequent reading with my first child. He enojyed it so much!He was able to participate in the reading by following the suggested motions.I really recommend this for a first book.It really was great starting about 3mos. old.

The story itself is a classic, but I was disappointed in the quality of the book considering the cost

- a timeless classic, but too fragile for little ones.
This "Pat the Bunny" book is exactly like the one I got for my boys 20 years ago when they were small. It's cute and inventive, but it is NOT sturdy enough for toddlers. Ours fell apart right away. Also the story and activities were not especially engaging for my boys. If you do buy it, I suggest that you put it out of the child's reach after you read it. Or buy high-quality board books instead.
As an aside, couple of terrific bunny-books that I recommend for youngsters are: "The Country ... Read More
