Amazon.com Review:
This true story about the love between a spiritual mentor andhis pupil has soared to the bestseller list for many reasons. Forstarters: it reminds us of the affection and gratitude that many of usstill feel for the significant mentors of our past. It also plays outa fantasy many of us have entertained: what would it be like to lookthose people up again, tell them how much they meant to us, maybe evenresume the mentorship? Plus, we meet Morrie Schwartz--a one of a kindprofessor, whom the author describes as looking like a cross between abiblical prophet and Christmas elf. And finally we are privy tointimate moments of Morrie's final days as he lies dying from aterminal illness. Even on his deathbed, this twinkling-eyed menschmanages to teach us all about living robustly and fully. Kudos toauthor and acclaimed sports columnist Mitch Albom for telling thisuniversally touching story with such grace and humility. --GailHudson

Product Description:
Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague.  Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago.

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder.  Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger?

Mitch Albom had that second chance.  He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life.  Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college.  Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The trick is putting the life lessons into practice
Maybe I am just getting sentimental in my old age but I am beginning to love these "death with dignity" stories, I hope that does not make me some kind of ghoul.

When I first listened to this book I just thought that it would answer a few questions about how to die with pride but I also found that for a book that is so short it manages to teach you a lot of things about how to live your life. The simple platitudes that we hear every day like "you should value you're family" and "money ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I Love Morrie
Perhaps a top 100 book of the century.Heartbreaking and the indominable strength of ones soul.(As one also dying of a malignant brain tumor at 50 (started at 45)) , since being diagnosed 4.5 years ago, and 4 brain operations, perhaps I connected with Morrie more than others might.Mitch Albom however was more a journalist than a friend for years.Only when he heard of Morrie's quick downfall, did he run to an airport.
Awesome book though, should be on the reading list of every high school ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A memoir and a eulogy full of wisdom
I feel ashamed that when I received this book as a Father's Day gift I thought, "Yeah, whatever, another Oprah's book of the month, new age weepy spouting inane little philosophy of life aphorisms."Sure, there are plenty of little life aphorisms here but there is also a lot of real wisdom.Read in one setting, it left me in tears and on both counts that's a rare thing.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Worth the Read!!!
Tuesdays with Morrie is an extremely touching memoir. Mitch Albom shares with us the time in his life when he returns to his college professor, Morrie. Morrie teaches Mitch lessons that are important to him, and these lessons end up being very important in Mitch's life as well. The lessons that Morrie shares with Mitch are sweet, without being cheesy. Believe it or not, in my own life, I sometimes hear Morrie's words of wisdom in my head, influencing me to make the best decisions for myself in my own life. ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Albom needs to take writing classes
"He waited for these kisses like a puppy waits for milk."Seriously?Albom really thought this was a good analogy to use? When I read that line, I literally rolled my eyes.My 10 year old nephew writes better than Albom. The poor grammar, run-on sentences, etc, made me cringe. Not to mention, it was obvious that Albom only got in touch with Morrie because Morrie had been on Nightline.Albom wrote that his main goal in life had been to be famous. Thanks to good ol' Morrie, he's accomplished it.Albom ...
