- Maximum Ride or School Textbook?
Ever since I picked up the first "Maximum Ride", I made no attempt to hide the quick bond and love growing inside my heart for all the characters.It wasn't a surprise that I was excited about purchasing "The Final Warning".However, when I eagerly plunged into this book, there was definitely a few terrible problems with this sequel of an amazing series.The fun produced by the other books had been squeezed almost entirely out of "The Final Warning", leaving behind a somewhat ... This instalment in the series seemed like it was an 'out the door' edition. Out the door as in just throw something together and get it out the door to meet a deadline.
It has very little plot, a lot of over simplified views on global warming and next to no action.
It also seemed quite short. I am a Kindle user so the concept of pages simply does not apply and fancy kerning or line spacing does not factor in.

My daughter is 13 and has passed the Maximum Ride series around to her 7th grade class.I'm impressed with her zeal to read all of these books. If you have a teen that you want to get reading, I'd recommend this series.

Since starting the series, I have been captivated and excited about it. I was always entertained with the plot and the evolving story line. My only regret was that the series stopped. If they make a movie, I hope they don't butcher it. I highly advise first timers to invest in the books to enjoy your imagination to go wild.

I have enjoyed the Maximum Ride books. I was late to the party as I was turned onto them by a friend. I blazed through the first three with great enthusiasm. After reading THE FINAL WARNING though, I feel like I just sat through Al Gore's speach on the environment. Dont get me wrong, I'm all about the issues at hand but this book took such a turn from its previous titles that I often checked to make sure it was the same series.
