- AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE
I enjoyed this book. It opened my eyes about tourette syndrome. I was so saddened to learn about all the problems this child had to go through before drs. found the true illness affecting him and the struggles he and his family went through. This was a true mystery. I love James Patterson's style and stories.

- Easy, excellent read.
Great read. It's very important to know that we need to be in control of our own healthcare. I commend the parents in this book, they never gave up on their son.

- Ritalin side-effects, is anyone paying attention?
This young child did not have Tourette's syndrome until he went to a doctor that prescribed a drug (ritalin) which has the side-effect of Tourette's!!!When he returned to the doctor and the initial muscle tension in his neck had worsened into a myriad of muscle problems, the Tourette's was diagnosed. And from there he started his journey into the deep dark hole of pharmaceuticals. How sad is that!!!
Ritalin has not been approved for children under 6 years old.How can this doctor ... Read More

This was one of the most amazing and inspiring stories I've ever read and I love how it was written from the point of view of the author's son and in his voice. Very well written and a super fast read. I've been recommending it to everyone. I even want my kids to read it when they get older. A lot of lessons to learn from this one. In fact it would be an excellent book to require middle school or high schoolers to read in order to learn empathy and not judge someone who is "different" without understanding ... Read More
