When Southern belle Ellie McBride moves her twins from Vertigo,Tennessee to New York City , they wouldn't dream of leaving behind the family pig Rumpy. - Middle School Level
I kept looking at the cover to see if I'd picked this out of the young readers section by mistake. I would put this possibly at a 5th or 6th grade level. If Jimmy Buffett hadn't written it, I doubt it would ever have been published.

- Soccer playing pigs?
To write a book of this type one really has to have a wild and vivid imagination, and Jimmy B. certainly has both, as can be easily seen from his songs. This hilarious tale of a soccer goalie pig whose family hides him in a posh New York City hotel is really a hoot!
The story is told from several points of view, but the pig really has the best of it. The two children of the family devise various schemes to get the pig out of the hotel into the outdoors, and out of the prying eyes of ... Read More

- Feeling Douped!
I was excited when this book came out, as I had throughly enjoy Buffett's previous books!I decided I would get it on CD so I could listen to it as I was driving; as I started listening to the prolouge I came to understand that this story was truely never Buffett's to begin with! Then as the story starts to unfold, I feel as though I have been insulted as a reader/listener by having this book published under the guise of a Novel written for adults, when in fact it should be in the childeren's section ... - Not Jabanoski
I'm a twenty year plus Parrot Head, but this, and Jimmy's other books, just don't live up to his island buddy Bill Jabanoski's "The Roadkill Diaries: Strange Tales From Key West And Beyond" or its sequel "Beyond The Mirror: The Roadkill Diaries, Part II." Jimmy may have invented the Key West musical style, but he's not the writer Jabanoski is. Jimmy's books, all of which I bought as soon as they were available, are good, but Jabanoski is the true great writer of Key West.
