Product Description:
Having completed the two cycles of legend to which she has devoted her career so far, Anne Rice gives us now her most ambitious and courageous book, a novel about the early years of CHRIST THE LORD, based on the Gospels and on the most respected New Testament scholarship.
The book’s power derives from the passion its author brings to the writing and the way in which she summons up the voice, the presence, the words of Jesus who tells the story.

- Christ the LordOut of Egypt
This was an excellent book.Easy to read with a great deal of information about Jewish life in the time of Christ.Great visual images about the country in which Christ traveled as a boy. Although fiction, Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt indicates that the author has done extensive research into the life and times of the setting of the book.

- The Icarus Factor
It's a hard thing to get into the mind of God.Rather bold, to even attempt it.So I have no reservations in stating that I think Anne Rice did a much better job of it than I could ever do.Ultimately, though, I found this a failed attempt.
There were certainly times when I felt Jesus was revealed more fully, and I came closer to him in reading this book. She showed some imagination, in creating life in Egypt for the young Jesus. But on the whole I found this a frustrating experience. ... Read More

- Christ the Lord Rocks - Definitely Worth the Read
In Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt, Anne Rice, yes, takes up the task of giving us the life of Jesus of Nazareth in this first-person historical novel. Out of Egypt is the story of Jesus and his family's departure from Egypt and their settling at Nazareth.
Rice succeeds at what is a very difficult task. First, she takes on a story with events and elements that many readers likely already know, and yet she paints with such careful strokes of writing that it is a delight to read as it unfolds ... Read More

- Trash
I just finished this book and I must say the one book she needs to read more of is the Bible. I will destory my audio book copy of this book because I do not want one more copy of this toxic tale to be around. The only good thing is I did not buy the other Christ the Lord books.

- Christ's story as he may have told it as a 7 yr old
Written in 2005 after the death of the author's atheist husband, this book marked Rice's return to the faith of her fathers (raised Catholic, Redemptorist type, in New Orleans).Having abandoned the faith at age 18, she realized that all 26 of her books successively brought her to embrace the risen Christ.
The novel is written in the first person, from the perspective of Christ at age 7 and 8.It is charmingly written, and I read all 321 pg in a night and a half. She gives special credit ... Read More
