Product Description:
OATHS SWORN . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide.
Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.
First is Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices— choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.
Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king?

Not exactly what you expect from this author, but as always the plot has a surprising twist

- A very entertaining read..Paolini delivers again!
All in all after reading the first two books in this series, Paolini delivers a thrilling, well-paced read again. While some of the plot twists and turns are predictable, Paolini still hits you with a few unexpected ones.I enjoyed the time spent on further developing the different characters in this one.You feel yourself growing along with them as they develop, almost like you are flipping through each one's family photo album.I'm looking forward to the fourth book and seeing how Paolini finishes ... - From pleasantly predictable to really tiring
It's not bad to be formulaic. High Fantasy usually follows a pretty predictable story arc and although predictable, the nuance the writer brings is what keeps me coming back.
Eragon was formulaic, but a good start all the more intriguing for the author's youth. My hope was for some maturity in his writing as he matured. No such luck though. Unfortunately (for me) in Eldest, Eragon was blessed overnight (literally) with increased senses, super-strength, and elf-like ears. At that point I no ... Read More

- Another very poor book.
The first book was ok. Even that it had similarities with Star Wars, even that it had actions that made you think .... WHY?? it was short and ok to read.
The second book was LONG and booooring. I mean, it was SOOOOOOOoo boring.
Ok the 3rd book is out. The price is even higher that the other books. Yea yea it's a best seller.
So what do we get? An even longer book. A book that attacks your intelect. Stupid dialogs. The only interesting part of the book are the last 50 ... Read More

- Big, Fat, Long, Disappointment
I waited a long time for this book and I did not start reading the series until well after the first one was released. I loved the first two. I bought them and put them up in my nice little shelf of my sacred, favorite books. They encouraged me to start reading more young adult literature, because I enjoyed them so much. However, Brisingr was very disappointing. I found myself asking "Did I learn anything new about the story line in this book?" I am not convinced. I feel like I wasted my time. Paolini, Can ...
