Amazon.com Review:
The idea that blood type plays a role in health, wellness, and personality wasn't exactly new when Dr. Peter D'Adamo came out with EatRight 4 Your Type in 1997. The idea had been around for most of the 19thcentury, and had gained quite a bit of currency in Japan. But it was a startlingidea to most Americans, who made the book a bestseller that was translated intomore than 40 languages and spawned a similarly successful sequel, Cook Right 4 Your Type.
Now, Dr. D'Adamo--armed with new studies on genetic links between blood types, disease, and behavior--looks at the psychological and medical peculiarities that seem to predominate in one blood type or another. Type O's, for example, have lower than average amounts of a brain chemicalcalled dopamine, leading to poor concentration, hyperactivity, and tempertantrums. A's tend to manufacture too much cortisol, a stress hormone that can lead to hypertension and has even been implicated in Alzheimer's disease andcancer. Type B's and AB's clear nitric oxide out of their systems faster, allowing them to calm down more rapidly than other blood types when stressed.
Dr. D'Adamo offers detailed lifestyle modifications for each type, including exercise programs, long lists of food to either seek out or avoid, and suggested treatment of specific illnesses. Some of this gets pretty arcane, including his recommendation of bladder wrack (a seaweed) for ulcer treatment of Type O's.
A big part of the appeal of this book series is that anyone reading it can become a participant by joining Dr. D'Adamo's blood-type registry atwww.dadamo.com. Live Right for Your Type is peppered with testimonials from these registrants, giving the reader a sense that a true transformation in health, appearance, weight, and well-being is just a few diet and lifestyle changes away. --Lou Schuler

- Life-Changing
This book changed my life no doubt in less than a week, before I got the book I didn't even know my blood-type but when I compared the different blood-types I had almost all of the negative symptoms associated with one type. So I went to the Dr and had blood drawn, and no surprise I was correct in my assumption and Dr. D' Adamo is a genius. I feel like I haven't been truly living until I changed my diet last week, there is so much information in here that I can't begin to sing it's praise.

It is a great book for blood group A people. I am blood group A and read only the specific part. I am sure it would be equally good for other blood groups also..
It opened my eyes to a whole new problem blood group A people suffer from. that is adrenal fatigue.. We have been damaging our critical glands with poor living habits all the time. Time to take the control and heal our glands.. It is worth a read. If you are blood group A, DO NOT MISS IT.. IT IS MUST FOR YOU.. you will realise why I ... Read More

- Little Difference
I have purchased two other books in the series. I found little to be different in this book from the other two. The books tend to repeat themselves a lot. I purchased this book with all good intentions of learning the lifestyle changes and exercise programs that are recommended for my blood-type. I was a little disappointed to find that there was very little additional information provided in this book from the Eat Right For Your Blood Type book. Based on this, I am not going to be purchasing any other ... Read More
