George Santayana, a notable philosopher, coined the phrase, "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Accordingly, a study of the history of World War II can produce enormous fruits.
Let's be honest, history is again repeating itself. The United States is moving quickly in the direction of Socialism. This lies within the gulf between Communism and Democracy. If we have been neglectful in our learning until now, this would not be a bad time to start again or begin. ... Read More

Number the Stars gives information about the Holocaust while also spinning a good story. Lois Lowry tells the tale of a young girl, Annemarie, who is a Christian. Her friend Ellen is a Jew in Denmark in 1943. The Nazis have invaded Denmark. Little by little the lives of Annemarie and Ellen are increasingly affected by the Nazis presence. The book Number the Stars by Lois Lowery is the best book I have ever read. There are two main characters. The first character is Annemarie. She is a Danish girl from Denmark. Ellen is the next main character. She is a Jew that has to pretend she's not.
