- THIS REALLY LOOKS STUPID!!! (but it wasn't)
Hey, I'm dead serious. When I saw the title of this book, glaring at me from the Wal-Mart shelf, I scoffed. And immediately, my thought was like, WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS? Just put together a book about him and his stupid brother, Micah, huh? I was honestly hoping the worst for this book, knowing that just because it had NICHOLAS SPARKS written on it, that automatically it would be a bestseller. But you know something? That was before I'd actually read something by Nicholas Sparks. Then I read a few ... Read More

- Clueless
A co-worker loaned me a copy of this book, so I am happy to say I didn't waste any money on it.I have never read a Sparks novel, nor would I ever be inclined to, seeing as how cheesy chick-flicks don't exactly appeal to me.I've read most of the reviews on here, and while I agree they play the part of spoiled Americans, that's not really what bugged me about this book.
The worst part about this book is the stories are so contrived it's nauseating. Does Sparks honestly expect me to believe ... Read More

- My Most Favorite Nicholas Sparks Book!
Excellent!I laughed, I cried - sometimes at the same time.I'm reviewing this book three years after I read it.I often remember lines from the book, and the brothers' impressions regarding places visited in the book.It is "primer" for inside information on his other books. I listened to this book on audio cd's, and loved the reading.A wonderful experience that has stuck with me.

- Next time, throw out the travel brochure
When I began this book, I was rooting for the author, who displays a Christian sensibility in his books and writes more directly (although still obliquely) about his faith in this one.
But... in all honesty, it wasn't enough to keep me reading to the end. My first clue that I wasn't really in tune with this author hit me once he has planned his three-week, once-in-a-lifetime, around-the-world trip with his brother. He whines about it, complains about it, tries to convince us he doesn't want to ... Read More

- Absolutely the BEST Nicholas Sparks book of all time!!!!
This book is charming, witty, well written and without a doubt the best book by this author! I've given it as a gift to at least 10 people who all agree with me... it's funny, heart-warming, and human.WONDERFUL.
