- Interesting ideas
I bought this book as a somewhat novice project manager. Being a few years out of college, I needed some new frameworks to help keep everything in order. This book was an interesting read, but light on the content. You can take most of the ideas from just reading his website alone, and downloading the template. There isn't much description or education behind the template, other than how to fill it out and how the author used it back in the 90's to build an automated warehouse.
I'd probably ... Read More

- One Message Book with Standard PM Fodder
I can summarize this book very simply:
- Management does not want or need to know every detail - so develop
a simplified status sheet (his is OK - so go to his website and
download it for free - your done!)
~ The remainder is standard project management fodder: what is
a project, what is project management, what is the benefit of project
management, good project management characteristics such as team
selection, communication ... and on and ... Read More

- The One-Page Manager is an Effective Project Device
As a project manager finding a concise and effective way to report on project status has always been a challenge.Clark Campbell provides a workable solution. The book is well written and does a very good job of explaining how to set up and use the one-page manager. I am now using the procedures and principles to manage my current projects with great success. I would recommend this book to anyone who has to organize, manage and report on project status.

- Interesting tool
I bought this book because it was referenced in a project management certification course I took. One Page Project Management is a tool for reporting project status, mainly to upper management, in a simple and complete way.
Do not expect a theory of how to manage a project in this book. OPPM is a good tool for supporting all your other project management work.
Rating:
- Not one size fits all
One of the challenges in project management is how to report project status in a concise way. Different stakeholders have different priorities. Upper management is probably most interested in answering the questions "Are you on budget? and "Will you be done on schedule?" Team members are concerned about knowing and understanding what is expected of them and when it is due. The One-Page Project Manager (TOPPM) promises to help a project manager "communicate and manage any project on a single sheet of paper;" ... Read More
