Rating:
- Good High Level Overview of CISSP Material
This is a very good high level overview to the CISSP material. Although it does not go into much depth on any particular topic, it does provide the broad road map of what to expect. This should not be your only CISSP resource but it can be a valuable addition to your study materials.
What I have found most effective is to read about one of the 10 domains in this book followed by Shon Harris's "All in One CISSP Exam Guide" and then the "Official (ISC)2 Guide to the CISSP Exam". Starting ... Read More

- Fantastic Book Worked for me

Rating:
- CISSP FOR DUMMIES
I think this book serves as a nice supplement for those preparing for the CISSP. Obviously, it should not be relied upon as your primary study guide as it does not provide the plethora of detailed information needed to pass the exam. It's simplicity however, allows the reader to gain a basic or core understanding of some of the more complex security concepts. I found myself cross-referencing this book often when encountering cumbersome topics in the more detailed Krutz and Harris study guides. I'm doubtful ... Read More

- Very poor content
I found this book a poor study guide for someone who needed to learn a lot about security to pass the CISSP (although I have been a developer for 20 years).
I finally gave up on this book (after reading it all) and bought Shon Harris's CISSP Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, 4th Ed. (All-in-One), that has a lot better content, reviews and reputation.
The electronic questions (a selling point for me) seemed a little trite and flimsy comparing them to the questions from cccure.org and SCCP CBK ... Read More

- Does not replace the CBK *at all*, but may be worth review
I'm not sure if it was "just my luck", but absolutely none of the questions (and VERY few of the concepts) presented in this book were actually on my exam.Perhaps it's due to the continuous evolution of the test question base, but the questions on the exam were VERY specific. So STUDY THE MAIN ISC2 BOOK FIRST AND FREQUENTLY, and only use this "Dummies" book for additional light study.
