- The Deniers - a needed balance to hysteria
The Deniers provides a good source of information to rebut the hysteria generated by "An Inconvenient Truth".Solomon has selected the most credible scientists who have tried to bring rational reasoning into the climate debate - and yes, there is still legitimate debate on the cause of climate change. This is an excellent read for those seriously interested in obtaining a balanced view of the science behind global warming.

- This book is a huge lie and fraud. Is there a way to give less than 1 star?
Lawrence Solomon admits on page 45 of this book that none of the scientists in his book really deny global warming. But when he goes around the country giving speeches, he never mentions that fact. He was backed by CEI, and if you Google Solomon, you will find a photo of him standing in front of a CEI podium. TURNS OUT, BOTH SOLOMON AND CEI HAVE BEEN SO DISCREDITED, THAT EXXON STOPPED PAYING THEM. I learned that in my research. You can find it, too.
Sorry, but this book is a lie and ... Read More

- Total misrepresentation of scientists' beliefs
I first came across "The Deniers" when it was a 10 part series in the Canada National Post profiling the so-called global warming "deniers."What struck me right out was that Solomon couldn't make it past his sixth article in the series, a profile on Dr. Nigel Weiss, without the National Post having to apologize for libel.Turns out, not only does Dr. Weiss completely disagree with the views ascribed to him in the article, he also "believes that the warming trend in Earth's climate is caused by ... I was extremely excited to read this book. The author does a wonderful job of presenting the positions of the scientists he interviews and the difficulty they have in presenting those views in the public arena.Toward the end of his book, he hits upon the real truth behind the global warming position. The UN is a political body that is motivated by the policies and politics of the various governments that make up that body. This would indicate that ... - Some people disagree with *everything*
I accept that many of the scientists Solomon cites either do not believe warming is taking place, do not believe it is anthropogenic, or feel that likely outcomes are unthreatening.I also understand that being a contrarian---particularly when doing so means telling people that they can carry on with business as usual---is a good way to sell books.I would respect the author more, though, if he quoted *all* of Dr. Landsea's comments (he believes that anthropogenic warming is a serious threat: all he ...
