Product Description:
THE EAGERLY AWAITED COLLECTION OF PERSONAL ESSAYS FROM THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF MY HORIZONTAL LIFE
When Chelsea Handler needs to get a few things off her chest, she appeals to a higher power -- vodka. You would too if you found out that your boyfriend was having an affair with a Peekapoo or if you had to pretend to be honeymooning with your father in order to upgrade to first class. Welcome to Chelsea's world -- a place where absurdity reigns supreme and a quick wit is the best line of defense.
In this hilarious, deliciously skewed collection, Chelsea mines her past for stories about her family, relationships, and career that are at once singular and ridiculous. Whether she's convincing her third-grade class that she has been tapped to play Goldie Hawn's daughter in the sequel to Private Benjamin, deciding to be more egalitarian by dating a redhead, or looking out for a foulmouthed, rum-swilling little person who looks just like her...only smaller, Chelsea has a knack for getting herself into the most outrageous situations. Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea showcases the candor and irresistible turns of phrase that have made her one of the freshest voices in comedy today.

- Very funny!
I listened to the audio book version of this, which is read by the author. The book is hilarious! I often found myself laughing out loud while sitting in traffic on my way to work (and got a few strange looks because of it!). I highly recommend this book if you're looking for a light-hearted book and a good laugh.
Rating:
- A good read
This book was funny, but I didn't like it as much as I like her other book "my horizontal life". This book was a variety of different funny events that took place in her life, and what happened because of them. At this point she was already working as a comedian, so it doesn't have the same immature feel as the other story's did. Still worth reading!

- Some funny parts, and a good light read
A light read, and in some parts pretty funny, Chelsea Handler tells stories from her life in a literary version of a stand up comedy show. I felt that in parts the text began to drag, and that it wasn't really saying anything all that interesting. But some parts were pretty funny. I particularly enjoyed the story where she has to spend a night in prison. I thought that one very well done. The writing style is very conversational, making it easy to read. I would recommend this book to bring to the ... Read More

- Chelsea, Don't quit your night job.
When shopping for a few good "reads", I thought I'd try a genre different from my usual mysteries, thrillers or historic novels. Here we go...some Humor! After anxiously awaiting Chelsea's books, I dove right in after they arrived.Fellow readers:Save your money. The author's stand up routines on YouTube would have given you 90% of what was written. Some humor is not meant to be copied from "Stand-Up" to paper. It was bound nicely and had clear print. This will be in my 25 cent box at the ... Read More
