- Chess Problems
This is a very large collection, with virtually no explanations or annotations.I was put off by it at first, but now I think it is of value.A large number of one, two, and more move mates are shown.I think there are 600 miniatures from master games and some of his famous daughters' games.Overall an unusual and large collection of material.
Rating:
- Poor editorial style
I was quite disappointed with this book. No doubt there is a wealth of information and problems in it, but the quality of the pages and the font that the book is typeset in makes it less usable than it deserves to be. Firstly the paper quality is sub-par. Combine this with the (and I apologize for not knowing the right word here) typeface or font of the images used to portray the pieces are poor and in some diagrams it is hard to differentiate, for instance, the white queen from the black queen. ... - A+ Tool for Newbies and Masters!!!
This is a great learning tool to anyone from a rookie to a master. The book teaches you how to read the whole board instead of just looking at making a move you may regret.I was having trouble with my end game where I was only able to mate with back rank mates. The book has taught me to use all pieces to mate.I was told this would be a great book to learn different aspects of the game by the 2003 Louisiana State Champion (Alvin Dominique) and he was ever so right!!! A+ tool!!!
Rating:
- Good practice
The book provides solid examples for various positions on how to mate and advance your attacks.Overall, an endless plethora of chess puzzles to solve and contemplate.

- A good chess puzzle book
This book has a large collection of chess puzzles.A lot of them are not realistic. But even a small portion of them are good, that's quite a large number. It's worth every penny.
