Product Description:
Let's get something clear right up front.
I'm not Harry Dresden.
Harry's a wizard. A genuine, honest-to-goodness wizard. He's Gandalf on crack and an IV of Red Bull, with a big leather coat and a .44 revolver in his pocket. He'll spit in the eye of gods and demons alike if he thinks it needs to be done, and to hell with the consequences--and yet somehow my little brother manages to remain a decent human being.
I'll be damned if I know how.
But then, I'll be damned regardless.
My name is Thomas Raith, and I'm a monster.
So begins "Backup," a twelve thousand word novelette set in Jim Butcher s ultra-popular Dresden Files series. This time Harry's in trouble he knows nothing about, and it's up to his big brother Thomas to track him down and solve those little life-threatening difficulties without his little brother even noticing.

Rating:
- A decent footnote but not worthwhile on its own
Thsi is good enough to request from the public library, but only committed collectors should buy it in speculation that it will be worth something in future as a publisher's blooper.
Both the author and publisher should be ashamed to offer such a small snippet in hardcover for a full price. It breaks the unwritten rule of fair entertainment value for a reasonable price.
I agree with other reviewers that Thomas in this book has no real voice of his own. The narrative detracts ... Read More

- Short - but very good !
An excellent addition to Jim Butcher's Dresden Files - this novel follows Thomas through a short adventure that gives you some insight on how he views the world and his brother Harry.Given the short format of the book, it is a good story although I could wish it was longer and a bit more complex. However, I enjoyed the book (booklet ?) and would recommend it for any fans of Harry Dresden.

- Thomas Raith
Good book. Would love to have a lot more books about Thomas Raith. Jim Butcher is fabulous as usual! Just wish it was longer. Read the book in about 30 minutes.

- Backup
BackupIf you are a fan of Harry's big brother Thomas Raith I think you will enjoy this book. I know I have. It gives you a look at how Thomas see himself. This book is written from Thomas's perspective. As with all of Jim Butcher's Dresden file books it has action, and what I like the right amount of good humor. I think it packs a lot of story in a small book.

- Backup...
Great book, just EXTREMELY short; probably not worth more than 5 dollars. Despite the length, it is nice filler and has some extra character development.
