While shadowing Tiger Woods from hole to hole in Carlsbad in 2000, the photographer purposefully wore dark glasses the entire day so as to not look in the golfer's eyes. And in 2003, Iooss literally couldn't sleep the night before reuniting Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier for their first photo together in 30 years. In a lyrical display, we witness a creative evolution as Iooss continually discovers new ways and approaches to capture the athletic spirit. A very nice book and will make a nice Christmas present for my grand children, who are into sports.

- Striking sports photos
This is an awesome book of photos I've not seen before.I've been a subscriber of SI for over 30 years and at least half of the photos I had not seen.The photographer's eye is exceptional....and lucky to a degree.I also got this book for my son.

I bought this for my boyfriend's birthday and he totally loves it.We were NOT disappointed.The pictures are precise and vibrant.The stories with the pictures are interesting and fun.Any picture of Michael Jordan is impressive.

I love Walter Iooss, but the picts in this book are sort of re-hashed. Book arrived with torn cover, inside in perfect condition. There are better Iooss books..

I saw a few shots from this book on the Today show, but never have I been so astounded by photographs and I love photography.We've all seen sports books but this book has only one word to describe it...AMAZING.
