Product Description:

For most Americans, the word NASA suggests a squeaky-clean image of technological infallibility.

Yet the truth is that NASA was born in a lie, and has concealed the truths about its occult origins. Dark Mission documents this seemingly wild assertion.

Why is the Bush administration intent on returning to the moon as quickly as possible? What are the reasons for the current “space race” with China, Russia, and India? Remarkable images reproduced within this book provided to author Richard C. Hoagland by disaffected NASA employees provide clues why, including information about suppressed lunar discoveries.

Mystical organizations quietly dominate NASA, carrying out their own secret agendas behind the scenes. This is the story of men at the very fringes of rational thought and conventional wisdom, operating at the highest levels of our country. Their policies are far more aligned with ancient religions and secret mystery schools than the facade of rational science NASA has successfully promoted to the world for almost fifty years.

Dark Mission is proof of the secret history of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the astonishing, seminal discoveries it has repeatedly suppressed for decades.

Richard C. Hoagland is the former science advisor to CBS News, author of The Monuments of Mars, and a frequent guest on the popular radio programs Coast To Coast and The Art Bell Show.

Mike Bara is a consulting engineer for Boeing aircraft. This is his first book.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Must Read
While complex and technically detailed at times, the foundation of this book about NASA's dubious beginnings and conspiratorial secrets about what has been actually found on the Moon, Mars and elsewhere is a must read for anyone trying to understand the potential of what is out there. While I am skeptical about some of the claims, it opened my mind to question more and more about what the government really knows and what there really is beyond our known existence. I am so glad I read this important ... Read More

Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA

This book had promise. I have a great deal of respect for Hoagland and Bara. They are certainly qualified to speak on the subject. However, while the beginning of the book really grabbed me, the rest of it fell short in that it dealt more with photography and its technical aspects than it did with anything on the moon.

Moreover, the Freemason angle, which you can see on the cover of the book, lasted no more than a page. It's as if it ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - An Informative Book
This book, if one has an open mind, is very informative. Unfortunately, a large number of the pictures in the book are not of high quality. There is however a section of good color pictures.

On the other side of the coin, it IS possible to verify for yourself what the authors are saying by looking up and inspecting the reference images on line. I have done this in a few cases and found the analysis of the authors to be accurate. Perhaps getting readers to check things out for themselves ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Desparately seeking secrets
I like the idea of planetary archeology, but the evidence submitted in this book really requires a stretch of the imagination.

I do think it's most likely, that we will in our course of searching our solar system, find traces of other civisations - I just don't think it's in this book.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent, Alternative History, Very eye-opening!
I found this book to be extremly well written and thought-provoking. I have been a "space-hound" all my life, with my favorite uncle having been involved w/US space program from the beginings at the Redstone Arsenal. If the information in this book is true,(and I have no reason to doubt the majority of what I've read), then this truly shames the US Government and the NASA Administraters. If you can't understand the higher-math, you can skip-over that section, and still enjoy the book. I think that I'll ... Read More
