Imaginatively rendered but slightly chilly, this 1951 Disney adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic is also appropriately surreal. Alice (voiced by Kathryn Beaumont) has all the anticipated experiences: shrinking and growing, meeting the White Rabbit, having tea with the Mad Hatter, etc. Characterization is very strong, and the Disney team worked hard to bring screen personality to Carroll's eccentric creations. For a Disney film, however, it seems more the self-satisfied sum of its inventiveness than a truly engaging experience. --Tom Keogh

I love this Movie and the seller sent me exactly the item described. The movie is authentic Disney, and it has extras of 1951 footage when the movie was barely released. I love this film and im very happy i was able to find it on amazon.

Alice in Wonderland is what I ordered, but apparently there is a barcode problem (according to the retailer) and this item is not available.I got the Village instead - I guess if you want that, go ahead and order this!I' sure if the correct movie would really show up my review would have been great.

Besides Fantasia?Yeah, I'm very surprised at this notion, but Alice in Wonderland truly is a good movie, especially in the realm of other Disney classics (including pixar, which sucks as well)
Why is that?First off, it has no sappy ending (thank god), and while Alice simply just wakes up and the ending features a pretty song and her walking into beautiful fields, the ending is fine considering the plot is just some wicked dream.Which also makes a little sense because...

Even as a little girl, when this first came out, I was disappointed in it. Disney later admitted that he undertook his version before reading Alice, and discovered that he didn't like the main character!
It shows.
Disney's Alice is not the critical observer Carroll created at all. She is indistinguishable from all of that era's Disney heroines - helplessly feminine and mindless, but sweet. Thank goodness everyone has moved on.
