Jeremiah Johnson is a movie I love; it's a mountain thing.I got this DVD because I thought the video would be so much better than my old VHS and it was.My disappointment was that the audio was very poorly synchronized to the video on this DVD.My recommendation would be to listen to the sound track or watch the video, just don't do both at the same time.Shame on you Amazon for not having better quality control on your merchandise.

- One of the Best Westerns Ever
Well, a few months back at MensNewsDaily we tried to do a Top 100 men's movies of all time. Doubtful many who saw it had heard of Jeremiah Johnson but it belongs in any collection of great men's movies and I reaffirmed that today by seeing it for the first time in many years. Johnson is a prototype of the strong silent man and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Though JEREMIAH JOHNSON could easily have become just another western revenge movie in the wrong hands, Sydney Pollack turned it into a reverent homage to a rapidly fading way of life. Redford was never better than in this film about the legendary 'Crow Killer,' and yet, Will Geer, as his mentor, early on, manages to steal several scenes, with dialogue that is both humorous, and sagacious. The Utah landscapes are breathtaking, and the score fits the film like a glove. This is an American treasure. ... Read More

From my father-in-law to our grandsons, we have all enjoyed this movie many times. This is the third DVD I have purchased of Jeremiah Johnson. It is a great portrait of what it was like to live the life of a mountain man.
