Featuring three new tracks and liner notes, The Very Best attempts to bring Foreigner into the '90s as a viable, working band. Problem is, the most convincing songs here are those recorded during the band's first four albums when they were young and, if not hungry, at least not played out."Jukebox Hero," "Hot Blooded," "Head Games," and "Cold As Ice" all sound as ripe and ready for radio as the day they were released. Singer Lou Gramm gave Foreigner its face and with the counterpunch of ex-Spooky Tooth guitarist Mick Jones proved a formidable team. The inclusion of their gospel-influenced hit "I Want to Know What Love Is" is the only addition from the 10-cut greatest hits album Records. --Rob O'Connor

- Foreigner on A&E's PRIVATE SESSIONS this Sunday!
This Sunday, March 29th at 9 am - Only on A&E's PRIVATE SESSIONS - renowned rockers Mick Jones and Kelly Hansen tell all and perform their mega hits "Cold as Ice", "Double Vision", "Urgent", "Waiting for a Girl Like You" and their new song "Too Late".

- Now I remember why I liked these guys
Wow! How many of these songs were the backdrop of our lives from 1979 through the early 90's? Rock solid songwriting, instrumental work that you felt in your gut, and Lou Gramm's incredible voice. What more could we have asked for. I still think "Urgent" could qualify as my generation's "Bolero" in terms of accompaniment to seduction. Romantic? No. Hot and hard when you needed it? Oh, yeah!

- Foreigner is Still Great,Especially to us fans.
Foreigner was one of the most successful bands of the late 70's and 80's.Their hard rock anthems, and classic power balads pushed them to the top of the charts.A lot of people have rated them poorly, saying their no "Led Zepplin".Fact of the matter is Foreigner never tried to be Led Zepplin,The Rolling Stones,Aerosmith,or Pink Floyd. However for people who like fun music, you can hum and sing along with,Foreigner is A classic. This album has all their great hits,"I Want To Know What Love Is","Urgent","Juke ... - Slightly Dated
I bought this album when it first came out, having been a casual Foreigner fan.Every now and again, it's good to bust out some mindless rock just to let off some steam and this album works well for that. All of Foreigner's hits are here in one place and I enjoyed the newer songs "soul Doctor" and "Prisoner of Love", while "With Heaven on Our Side" receives a "meh".One thing that struck me on recently listening is how dated a lot of the production sounds to me.It's got a very glossy sheen to it, ... - Very good "best of"
This is another "must have" album for any person who wants to travel in time and go back to the 80's.The choice of track seems perfect for me.As far as I am concern, if you are looking only for the "hits" from the band, I think this cd has them all.
