Product Description:
The rules are simple: try to build a row of four checkers while keeping your opponent from doing the same. Sounds easy, but it's not! The vertical strategy creates a unique challenge: you must think in a whole new way to block your opponent's moves! For 2 players. Game includes: grid, two end supports, 21 black checkers and 21 red checkers.
Editorial Review:
Connect Four is like vertical tic-tac-toe. Unlike tic-tac-toe, however (as the name suggests), youmust get four checkers in a row. One player has red checkers; the other has black checkers. To play, alternate turns at dropping one of checkers down a slot at the top of the upright grid. The first player to getfour checkers lined up in a row in any direction--horizontal, vertical, or diagonal--wins the game.--Alison Golder

- Great Game
One of my favorites, my Mom bought this game years ago and it's fun for all ages. Good quality because it made it through 15+ years of abuse and still works, though I think we replaced a few lost checkers, and ones the dog chewed up.

- A blast from the past and lots of fun...
I owned this game when I was five years old and purchased it this Christmas for my six year old son.
Like most things, from games to Snickers bars, they have reduced the size and cut some corners, but all in all, this game is as much fun as I remember. My six year old loves it, as do my my older children. It teaches strategy and planning and sharpens thinking skills.
Pretty good value as well.

- Awesome game
We love this game in our house, we can play for hours. This game is perfect for adults, for kids, even for babies! My daughter perfected her fine motor skills trying to drop the pieces into the slots. Yes, I superised her. My 7 year old can play for hours and she is surprisingly good.
I recommend this toy highly.

- love it
I bought this for my 5 year old nephew.I loved this toy as a child and thought this would be something fun for my nephew to play with.He is also just learning checkers and chess. While he hasn't gotten all the strategy down (plan ahead, think about what your competitior will do next) but it was very fun to play for him, and he seemed to be understanding the need to look at the entire board before you play.
I played like I would with anyone (although stopped him some times to think ... Read More

- timeless classic
I remember playing this game when I was a child and I loved the game. Now my children (7 and 5) are also playing this and they can't get enough of it. It is one of those simple game concepts that are classic and ingenious. So what if it is "low tech" - most kids still appreciate a game that lets them test their wits against an opponent one on one.
