Torrini's debut fits snugly with other female-fronted trip-hop acts from around the millennium. There are attempts to sound more organic and singer-songwriterish, but ultimately it is a (willingly accepted) facade even good production and her obvious vocal strength cannot completely transcend.

- Beautiful Songs, Beautiful Voice, Beautiful Music
This CD came up as an Amazon suggestion. I listened to the preview tracks and liked what I heard. Now that I've had the CD for about a month, I really like this disc. It's very pleasant. Emiliana has a wonderful voice. The songs are somewhat chillout like.
I think that if you like Dido, Beth Orton, Suzzane Vega, Sarah MacLaughlin, and Natalie Merchant (toss in a bit of Chillout); you will likely enjoy Emiliana. She was a very pleasant surprise to me. Not at all Bjork like.

- Took me by surprise! ! !
Emiliana Torrini is amazing! I never knew a thing about her until I was looking at a "Perfecto Chills" CD and "Love in the Time of Science" was recommended. I'm glad I gave a listen and now I must have this CD. The comparison to Bjork is there at times but to me she sometimes reminds me of Corinne Bailey Rae who is also a favorite. The track Ms.Torrini did with Thievery Corporation is also great. Glad I checked her out.

- A Hidden Gem...
I discovered Emiliana Torrini through listening to Bjork and the first album that I heard was her second, "Fisherman's Woman."
The minimalist music was interesting and the songs were pretty, so I purchased it and listened to it when in the mood.
It wasn't until recently that I decided to give her first album "Love in the Time of Science" a chance, especially since I'm a very big Tears for Fears fan and knew that Roland Orzabal had produced some of it.
