Removable blade assembly makes for easy and thorough cleaning. Features a Rugged metal base with ebony finish.
Amazon.com Review:
Bandleader and inventor Fred Waring introduced the first blender in 1936; more than 60 years later the Waring blender remains the standard for the field. This one, a hardworking blender with a durable glass pitcher and a sturdy metal base, can quickly pulverize ice or purée a vichyssoise to creamy smoothness. The stainless-steel blade is removable on this model, and the plastic ring that attaches the blade to the pitcher feels a little light for such a heavy blender. Those in doubt might go with one of Waring's fixed-blade blenders. With a one-year appliance warranty, though, there's plenty of time to test this one out. --Maria Dolan

- worked well for about 2 years with limited use
Just like the title says.I gave this to my parents as a gift.Used only for mixed drinks occasionally. The whole reason I buy these higher end (I know there are way more expensive blenders, I worked as a bartender while in college) products is because I don't want to have to buy them twice.I sent an email to Waring regarding warranty repair. If they fix it under warranty I will re-write my review.

- Looks nice, but.....
Nice appearance, solidly built but I live in an apartment and this thing is so LOUD that I stopped using it for the sake of my ears and those of my neighbors. After debating whether to get industrial grade ear protection, I dropped it off at Goodwill. Adios blender, vaya con dios!

- Design Flaw - Blades Hit Jar Interior
This blender has a design flaw (or poor manufacturing tolerances). The removable blade component can wobble around inside the jar, allowing the blades to hit the inside of the jar.
I received (and returned) two of these blenders from Amazon. In each case the blade hit the inside of the jar, causing the motor to strain, the blade to bend and carve a crevice into the jar.
This defect likely explains the motor problems noted in the other reviews.

- Great!!! Blender For The Price
Fantastic for its price and great for home use.
Use.....Works Great
I've had it for about a year now.I make my morning smoothie with it using big chunks of ice, frozen fruit, juice, fresh fruit, etc. They turn out very smooth.I also made a few blended ice teas, lattes, frap type drinks. With these I was very impressed how fine it blends up the ice.Soups and dressings are no problem for this blender.
Controls.....Great

- Not what I expected
I was disappointed when this mostly plastic appliance arrived. I was trying to replace a Kitchen Aid blender, that leaks all over the place.
There was something loose rolling around inside the base, so I decided that was an ominous sign of future problems, so I sent it back.
I don't understand why there are so many different models of this blender. My advice is to buy the original Waring, not the "PRO", or Classic. In my mind the "Classic" was never "plastic".
