Editorial Review:
Just when it seems 3-D fighting games have permanently made 2-D fightinggames obsolete, something like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 comes along and provesjust how deep and fun 2-D fighters can be. It's better than its predecessor inevery way, and arguably the best 2-D fighting game to grace the Dreamcast.
The amount of playable characters is enough to put any fighting fan's salivaryglands in overdrive. Beginning with favorites such as Spider Man, Wolverine,Ryu, and Chun Li, players can eventually unlock 56 characters. We had our handsfull just mastering a few of these fighters, and getting familiar with all 56would take months of intense practice. There are almost too many moves, alldepicted with superb animation and augmented by several tag-team combos. Whenthe match begins, you can pick three characters. Once things heat up, you cancall in your pals to unleash a massive move on your opponent. This addsimmensely to the game's depth, and button mashers will be in for a shock whenthey find that their mistimed tag-team moves backfire.
Visually, this game is intense. The large characters are slightly jagged aroundthe edges, but that's more than compensated for by the massive amount ofanimation frames, colorful special effects, and stunning 3-D backgrounds thatare loaded with detail. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 also delivers a sonicperformance that is nearly arcade-perfect. This is a must-buy for any fightingfan, especially those who have a couple of buddies to bash. Just be prepared toput in a lot of time in practice mode if you want to get good. --T. ByrlBaker

- All time classic
Despite this game being 10 years old, I STILL pop this in and play the heck out of it today. I first got this on Dreamcast, and I fell in love with it. Great graphics, tons of choices of who to play with, music was groovy and memorable at best and it kept me busy for those days off from work. Well now, since I lost my Dreamcast (and the game along with it), I currently own it on XBox & PS2. I do plan on owning this on the Dreamcast (as soon as I find time to afford this highly sought after piece of treasure).Highly ... Read More

- One of the Best fighting games to date.
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for the Dreamcast plays so much better then on the PS2 or Xbox. Not sure how these systems messed it up some. After trying to play it on the PS2 I only wanted to go back to the Dreamcast with this game.Plus the PS2 version is rediculously expensive, just because its rare and the worst part, It's in a CD FORMAT!!! it does not work on all PS2 systems.X-Box is just bulky.Made for people with Gian hands.
Hands Down Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is best appreciated on the Dreamcast. It's not ... Read More

- Chaos at its Finest
The craziest 2D Fighting game thus far, Marvel vs Capcom 2 delivers a fresh new experience that will continue to stand the test of time with its hyper gameplay, number of characters, gameplay elements, and strategic depth.
***Story***
Unlike the previous versus titles, the story doesn't seem to be anything significant. The most that can be made out of the game is that the ENTIRE story revolves around the Ruby Heart and her Ship. The ending is generally the same, just images of the characters ... Read More

- Epic!
I was never a fan of tag-team 2D fighters until I picked up this title. With a deep roster, crisp graphics and no slowdown this is a must-have for a DC owner. The only downside is that there isn't much single-player replay values. Only modes are arcade mode and once the unlockables are done the game will likely sit on the shelf. A few more game modes would have been nice but overall a must have for a 2D fight enthusiast.
