Rating: - help for bad cooks
I have this size dutch oven in flame, and I heartily recommend it. It is small enough to be moved easily (dutch ovens are rather heavy!), yet large enough to cook for 2 with leftovers. Le Creuset's legendary stellar construction really makes a difference; these ovens heat consistently, and retain their heat well. I need all the help I can get in the kitchen, and Le Creuset comes through admirably.

This is one of the best items to have in your kitchen.It means 1-pot cooking when you're making stews, soups or casseroles from scratch.The finish is fabulous and it stays that way.It's pretty enough to serve from at the table.This size is great for anything up to a moderate sized chicken or pot roast.It heats evenly and retains the heat well.I love love love this french oven.I'm going to aim toward filling my kitchen with Le Creuset from now on!

In addition to buying this 4-1/2" round oven, I wanted to buy a small Buffet Casserole (the 2-quart size) to cook chicken & rice or pork chops when it's just my husband and myself, but I decided to buy the Tarte Tatin/"Anniversary" pan (same pan, two different names) instead for two reasons:
1) One less lid in the cupboard
