The best thing about this prenatal yoga program is that there is a modelfor each trimester. Instructor Shiva Rea demonstrates each of the stretches andexercises for the first trimester, and two pregnant women show modifications forthe second and third trimesters (they're even dressed in different colors foreasy reference). This removes the self-doubt home-exercisers often have aboutthe safety of certain moves--especially in that cumbersome final stage ofpregnancy. Using gentle voice-over instruction, Rea and her assistants takeviewers through a half hour of meditational stretches using blocks and chairsfor support. She follows that up with 16 minutes of floor work: lunge pose, bridge pose, child's pose, plank pose--all with the necessary adjustments. Shewinds things up with a four-minute guided relaxation on her back--thetraditional position--with the second-trimester woman on her side and the thirdon her side with one leg up on a chair. By including the different adaptations,Rea has made a program with the flexibility to carry an expectant mom through herentire pregnancy--and beyond, if she wishes. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Basic but it works for me
I didn't have a regular yoga practice when I became pregnant so for me this DVD was fine. The moves are basic and easy to follow. As others have noted there are 3 women to watch, one for each trimester. I find that helpful to see what options there are for me as I progress in my pregnancy. It was also reassuring to know that the moves I had been doing because they just felt good were OK to be doing. It helped confirm that pregnant women are not overly fragile!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good stretches to ease tension.
I started looking for a yoga DVD as something low-impact that would help me in preparing for birth and in easing some of the body aches and pains I was experiencing even in my first trimester.I bought this video when I was about 14 weeks, and am at 19 weeks now.

This DVD does that.I have had no back pain (upper or lower) since starting to do this video.I don't even do it regularly, but do use the video about 2 - 3 times per week, and pair it with other exercise like walking. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - simple and great way to stretch achy muscles
Used it and loved the way I felt afterwards! The moves are easy and the instructors are easy to follow thought their outfits are distracting and tight... I would recommend it to any pregnant women in need of a good stretch out for her aching body!!! Helped me immensely!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best
I had never done Yoga prior to my pregnancy. In fact, it was safe to say I was extreamely out of shape..and I was scared to death. I thought that I was going to have a terrible birth because of my low exercise level. So, I bought this DVD early on and used it about 4-5 times a week. I loved it. It made me feel like I was doing something proactive, rather than just sitting around worrying. It also helped me from gaining a ton of baby-weight. In the end I gained 27 lbs, and I had a fantastic delivery. ... Read More
