If you love to grill, you should have one of these! Getting charcoal red hot has never been easier, and the chimney delivers a consistent burn over all the coals. Cold spots and uneven cooking are a thing of the past.
From my experience, the type of charcoal you buy has a serious impact on the lighting process and ready time. With match-light type charcoal, I can stuff a couple of wadded paper towels in the bottom and have perfect coals ten minutes later. When I buy bulk charcoal without ... Read More

I'm one of those who have just used a coffee can in the past.I decided to buy this based on the excellent reviews it has had - and they are right!It is well made, sturdy, and well designed.Unless I loose it I don't think I'll ever need to replace it.I'm used to starting the coals and then starting the rest of dinner figuring at least 20 minutes for them to get hot.This starter is large and I was not sure how well it would work for the small amount I normally start.The coals covered the bottom ... I've used chimneys for 50 years and this one is the best I've ever had.It's construction is solid and its handles are positioned to keep ones hands and arms away from the heat.

I've owned this product for over 15 years and in all that time I've wondered why so much of humanity risks life and limb with nasty smelling starter fluid.I guess waiting longer to cook and stinking up the whole neighborhood has it's advantages to someone, somewhere.
It works EXACTLY as described, it works EVERY time, and within 10 minutes of lighting the newspaper you're cooking.
