Anyone with a small or crowded cooktop will appreciate the practicality of this double steamer from Norpro. The high-quality stainless-steel steamer can be split up and used separately with the push of a button, but its true value comes in its ability to steam two separate dishes in the same pot. Many bamboo steamers can accomplish this task, but most are sized to fit over a wok, which can dominate a small cooktop. Rating: - Works well, especially for the price
This steamer works well, especially if you actually need to steam two things separately.At first I thought that the plastic center rod would be problematic with durability, but it's pretty solid and has the added bonus of not getting too hot so it's easy to pick up out of the pot.
I wish the legs on the bottom were a little longer and that it was easier to clean by hand (i don't run the dishwasher very often), but overall it's a steamer and works great.
Rating: - Works as it should,
though I would enjoy a little more space between the bottom and top racks. On the other hand, it might not fit in my pot that way.

i love the double steamer.it has been helpful for dinners and healthy lite lunches and there is more room for veggies with the double, more efficient use of space.

This steamer comes in two pieces. The lower steamer is the larger one with a plastic central stalk. The upper, smaller one will click on this stalk to make a double layered steamer.
Works well. I wish the space between the two tiers was a little more so I could steam larger pieces of broccoli in the lower steamer.
Unlike the other reviewer here, I am GLAD the stalk is made of plastic. If it were metallic, it would get too hot to handle. The plastic stands up well for stove ... Read More

The center posts of this double steamer are made of plastic.This was a christmas present, but it's going right back to the store.I don't want to see how long it is before I overcook something and melt it!
