Placed in a pan with eggs, its internal sensor reacts to heat just as the eggs do. It's like being able to peer inside a cooking egg to see what's happening. The timer's red face is calibrated to indicate soft, medium, and hard--and stages in between. As the timer heats up, in precise synchronization with the eggs, its face darkens from the outer edge inward, displaying the eggs' current status on the calibrated gauge. Every good thing said about this is true.
Somebody can prefer to use clock timers with sound alarm, but this is sensing from the inside, can't fail.

I have perfectly boiled eggs every time, I don't know how I'd boil eggs without it. :D

This is awesome.I have tried in the past to make hard boiled eggs and they never turn out like my Mom's.I just gave up.I would crave hard boiled eggs at times though, so I had to bother my mother.I went looking on google one day (fool proof hard boiled eggs)I found this gadget and said what the heck it is not expensive.This gadget is awesome.It makes the best eggs.I don't have to bother my Mom any more.My husband even uses it.He loves it as well.Thanks for making a great product ...
