- A Fine Knife With One (Big) Caveat
Overall, I'd say that this is a fantastic knife. The other glowing reviews for the knife are absolutely correct in terms of its solid feel and sharpness. The lock is excellent, and the serrated edge is just about perfect. For the price, I don't know if you can do any better in terms of folding knives.

- Best pocket knife I've ever used
I bought a Gerber Gator over 10 years ago and it is a great knife.I would still be carrying the same Gator as my everyday pocket knife but my job prohibits it.It is a big folder, don't know if a smaller person would be adept at using this blade. The grip feels good in the hand and is very secure even under poor conditions.I don't know why this style of grip is not used more often.

- Perfection
This is the knife you need! Great quality by Gerber and an awesome all around knife. Gerber has quickly become my knife style of choice and this one is great. The Serrated and the Fine point are both so great I'm probably going to buy a second of both just to have them.

Okay, I'll admit it. I was looking for a good knife for "survival situations" and looked for one used by Bear Grylls ("Man vs. Wild"). I'm thinking of doing Christian missionary work outside the States. I helped a missionary build a house once in the Sierra Mardres of Mexico. (Hola Tony F., if you're reading this.) It's pretty raw when you're out of the States and your survival might depend on a good knife if transportation breaks down. You will have to rough it in the middle of nowhere.
