- ducks the issue, whistles in the wind
The film, ostensibly, is about the moral dilemma of conscientious objection to violence - the Quakers who will not fight for a "good cause." Sadly, this 1950s stab at a serious subject - in the shadow of nuclear destruction - squibs the effort. Actually, it is closer to a musical comedy than a drama, as though the director knew, for whatever reason, he could not bring off the tougher assignment.

This dvd movie arrived in resonable time and was in good condition. This is a good classic

We love this movie and got it for a young family that have 5 children and are living on an organic chicken farm.

This is one of my all-time favorite films.I've been a fan of both Gary Cooper and Dorothy McGuire for a long time.It doesn't hurt that Pat Boone sings the title song either.The acting is superb and it's hard to believe that the farm was created in California instead of Indiana.

Well done! This is a very friendly and enjoyable story, filled with all shades of emotions. I would highly recommend. The DVD quality was good also.
