Product Description:
Film, as well as video, often exhibits a greater sensitivity to what is to us invisible, ultraviolet light. This is most often outdoors, especially at high altitudes, where the UV-absorbing atmosphere is thinner; and over long distances, such as marine scenes. It can show up as a bluish color cast with color film, or it can cause a low-contrast haze that diminishes details, especially when viewing far-away objects, in either color or black-and-white. Ultraviolet filters absorb UV light generally without affecting light in the visible region. It is important to distinguish between UV-generated haze and that of air-borne particles, such as smog. The latter is made up of opaque matter that absorbs visible light as well as UV, and will not be appreciably removed by a UV filter. The UV Protector shields lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage.

- Seems fine
I just needed to protect my lens while I was overseas. Good price, seems okay.

- It's good
it works, it's clean, and it's pretty clear, what more can I ask for in a protective lens?

- lens saver... in more ways than 1
i purchased this filter to protect my $1700 lens from dirt and scratches, little did in know i was saving myself from replacing that $1700 lens. i was shooting a wedding and on the run when i set my camera with my 70-200 lens attatched on a bench. it fell to the concrete ground, lens first. when i turned it over, there was a crack right down the middle. scared and upset, i had to put the lens away and keep shooting. it wasn't until the next day when my husband had to 'hammer' the lens filter off ... - loose glass between metal rings
I may have received a defective one but the glass is loose in between the metal ring holders. It still works and acts as a protector but it is annoying to have the clinking sound of glass if I tilt the filter.

- Right lens, wrong camera
Sorry to say I was not aware I placed an order for the incorrect lens for my new Canon camera. So now I feel stuck with a product I may never use.
Don't know where to turn now.Any help?
