There's something inescapably appealing about this camp 1983 StarWars-meets-The Lord of the Rings knockoff that encourages the viewerto overlook its many silly shortcomings and simply enjoy the fun. James Horner'srollicking music score certainly helps, as does the epic-scale CinemaScopephotography of the breathtaking Italian landscapes. The costumes and extravagantproduction design are also great to look at, and much of Derek Meddings's visualeffects work still looks striking. Freddie Jones stands head and shoulders abovethe rest of the cast as the wise Ynyr, while the two romantic leads, KenMarshall as Prince Colwyn and Lysette Anthony (with an overdubbed Americanvoice) as Princess Lyssa, are mere formalities on which to hang the plot. Theall-British supporting cast includes Todd Carty, Bernard Bresslaw, RobbieColtrane, Liam Neeson, and the gorgeous Francesca Annis. If you feel the needfor some escapist sword-and-sorcery fantasy, then Krull delivers in fullmeasure. --Mark Walker

- Krull: A Masterpiece of 80's Cheesiness
Oh goodness... this is the kind of movie that is watched a million times in somebody's dork-haven basement where all the Dungeons-and-Dragons and Magic-the-Gathering sessions are held. This movie is the epitome of terrible acting, plot holes the size of Alaska and special effects that are so bad they make you cringe. I give it 4 stars, though, because it's the kind of movie I will watch over and over and over again--even to the point of being able to recite it back. If I was the sort of person without ... Film is well worth watching. Story line was entertaining and the directing and cast were surpurb.

- Kinda cheesy but fun B movie
I hadn't seen this movie in a very long time until I rented it just recently.Seeing it as an adult is another experience than seeing it as a child as I did the first time around, but it was still a lot of fun.The special effects are dated now, and the acting is a little on the corny side, but it's still a good time.I'm not much of a fan of fantasy movies, but this had enough adventure in it to take away from those aspects that usually turn me off.
The premise is there for a good triumphing ... Read More
