Functional as well as beautiful, this 2-quart saucepan is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The pan has an aluminum core in its base to spread heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pan, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it can be used for reheating a portion or two of cassoulet or macaroni and cheese on the stovetop or in the oven without drying it out. I like this pan. I am still cooking after all of these years.
For new people: This takes a while to heat up & you do not need to start it on high heat. OY! Save on the electric!
Any "shadows" or marks on the pan can be removed with vinegar after washing by hand if anyone still does that.
Will last a long time.

I purchased this saucepan so that I can start making homemade marshmallows, hot fudge sauce, and caramel sauce. This pan heats up evenly, but for reassurance, work on a series of trial and error to familiarize with use, how fast it really takes to caramelize sugar in this pan and how fast it is to reach the hard crack sugar mixture stage. All in all, it is a great buy!

We've been making popcorn in this pot 3-4 times a week for 23 years -- that is probably close to 4,000 times heating it up to popcorn temperature. And everything is sound -- handles, lid, everything. And nothing has warped on the bottom. Just amazing, especially for the price.

This is the PERFECT small saucepan. It's the right size for sauce or anything that comes in a can (take it from a bachelor). The finish looks great, and it comes right out of the dishwasher (big plus) looking just like it did when you got it out of the box. Handle stays cool even with the burner turned up. Lid fits very well, so no spills and faster cooking. Also, the lid doesn't have that annoying lip that traps condensation so that you can't put it down on the counter. It's REALLY durable. This ... what i wanted and it cleans up nicely.
