Functional as well as beautiful, this 3-quart saucepan is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The pan has an aluminum core in its base to spread heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pan, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it can be used for reheating a portion or two of cassoulet or macaroni and cheese on the stovetop or in the oven without drying it out. I used this pot for25 years and when my family split up I was so glad to see it available on Amazon so I could get another one for me. Bed Bath and Beyond and other stores do not carry this pot with the metal lid. It is the perfect size for everything, lasts a long time and is a recommended piece of cookware. Amazon had this size which is great.

Excellent product, and fast delivery. I owned the 3 Qt saucepan I'd bought in the early 80's and recently forgot to add water to the vegetables I was cooking. I really ruined the pan and wanted a replacement as I loved the original so much. This is very close to the original and I am pleased. Thank you.

I had been reluctant to order this Farberware pan because someone had said it was not the heavy duty pan of a few years ago and that the handle was flimsy. I finally bit the bullet and ordered it because I have another one this size and it is my most used pan. I have a new glass top stove and some pans will rock on the burner and not heat well, I needed a completely flat, heavy bottom. This new one is all of that and more. I could not be more pleased. it is super quality. I highly recommend it.

I ordered this product because I have several Farberware pans and they have maintained their quality after several years.However, after only one use, this saucepan had several pits in the bottom.I only boiled pasta in it so nothing could have scorched in it.I thought it only needed to be scoured, but discovered that the metal was pitted.I would not recommend this item. Disappointed.
