As All-Clad will inform you, this steamer works with 6, 8 or 12 quart stockpots. I use it with my 8-quart copper-core stockpot. (It still looks more like a Dutch Oven to me). The fit between the pot and the steamer is perfect. Nothing wiggles, jiggles or does not stay in quite right unlike so many `universal' steamers on the market. This is a superb large steamer insert.It is great for large quantities of veggies or whatever you would like to steam.There is nothing like the flavor of freshly steamed veggies!
