Product Description:
Chicago Cutlery Brown Kitchen Scissors, Clam Shelled.
Amazon.com Review:
These scissors are as versatile as a Swiss Army knife: one blade is notched for cutting flowers; a toothed inset between handles opens screw-cap bottles; there's a hooked opener at the end of one handle for old-fashioned bottle caps; and a combination wedge/screwdriver head protrudes from the other handle. Made of stainless steel, the scissors come apart easily for cleaning and sharpening and have tough, durable synthetic handles. Place them in a handy kitchen drawer, a car's glove compartment, or a survival kit. --Fred Brack

- Swiss Army Scissors?
Brief assessment
----------------
The two handle extensions - screwdriver and bottle opener - add very little utility to the scissors and they interfere with the ease and efficiency of a scissors' main use which is cutting things.
After having these for about half a year I decided that I would prefer a traditional scissors design and I would avoid purchasing this design in the future.

Rating:
- Not as described
Walnut Tradition Kitchen Scissors (ASIN: B00005AM7R) do not have "Comfortable wood handles secured with triple-brass rivets", they have unattractive chocolate-brown plastic handles.
The bottle opener and screw driver extensions are a poor design feature, and simply get in the way.
Rating:
- great gift for people who have almost everything & cook
Especially for people who cook alot (live to eat, rather than eat to live), these scissors are a fantastic gift.I have given at least a dozen pairs as wedding or house-warming gifts.I have had mine for eight years & they are still razor-sharp.I reach for them a dozen times each day. These would be a welcome gift for a valued staff member or an appreciated teacher, as the holidays approach.I couldn't live without mine.
Rating:
- Utility Scissors
These scissors are easy to clean. We have used them as a screwdriver, a bottle opener, wire cutters, and of course scissors. I highly recommend a pair of utility scissors for any kitchen. These come apart for easy cleaning, this is a great feature because it gives you an opportunity to dry the scissors very well and eliminate any bacteria growth or rusting.
Rating:
- Works Well, Cheap, Easy to Clean
I've had mine for a while and use them frequently in the kitchen.Handles heavy work such as cutting up raw chickens. Is generally comforable to use.Separate pieces and throw them in the dishwasher to clean. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the bottle opener and screwdriver are an unneeded add on, that sometimes get in the way.
