The CDP-CX400 is a 400 CD player/changer, providing an affordable solution for CD library/archive playback and background music system applications. With internal capacity for up to 400 CDs it will easily house the most extensive CD collections. CDP-CX400 features hybrid/pulse D/A converters that provide extremely low distortion and reduced signal interference. MegaStorage capability allows two units to be linked for access to up to 800 CDs and cross-fade allows for DJ-style fades between songs.Featured custom memory file stores disc and song titles for easier orientation. You'll get the ability to scan for discs by slot #, or alphabetically. You can also group your CDs in different music categories. Link your own title to a disc or song using PC keyboard. S-link (control A-1) interface allows PC control via software. Its large dot matrix display shows detailed disc data. This CD player/changer allows immediate switching from one player to another in a MegaStorage configuration. The unit automatically enters the play mode when AC power is activated by an external timer and also features a dual fluorescent display with dot matrix 13 character alphanumeric readout.

Will the was all right when I got it but as I played it strated to have trouble playing so now I have to have it worked on you should have someone look at them better before sending out to us Thank you

- THEY SHOULD HAVE BUILT THIS MODEL LAST
This unit has since been replaced andis now onlyavailableon the secondary market. What a shame! This unit had features which have since been dropped. Someof the later units do not havethe features I like. That is why I said, "They should have built this model last," I had threeunits like this when I decided I wanted more. (Currently I have five units, all daisy chained together. All my CD's are in these units.) I was so desperate to get another "400" that I bought two units on the secondary ... Read More

I own this CD Changer and I love it.It's a little slow and bulky, but I'm sure it would take me a lot longer to load and unload CDs myself.
However, it has been discontinued by Sony who has introduced the Sony CDP-CX455 and it has MP3 PLAYBACK!It is being offered at a comparable price and if Amazon doesn't carry it now, they should.

I had read reports that some people lost what they had spent hours typing in, and some had not, when unplugging the unit. I was one who lost everything...probably 10 hours of work.I contacted Sony and you can see their response below.Be careful

I loved this unit the day I bought it.Took me all weekend to type in all the CD titles and used it just about everyday.Until the thing jammed.Apparently, as I selected a CD to play, the machine dropped the CD and then the carousel started spinning, jammed, made a very loud jerking sound and stopped working since.HAD SONY THOUGHT OF MAKING A LITTLE TRAP DOOR IN THE REAR CLOSE TO WHERE THE CD LOADS, I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TAKE THE CD OUT IN TIME BEFORE THE CAROUSEL STARTED SPINNING. THE BIGGEST FLAW IN THIS ... Read More
