Product Description:
THE FILM FOLLOWS GRAY WHEELER WHILE SHE CONFRONTS HER GRIEF OVER THE DEATH OF HER SEEMINGLY PERFECT FIANCE. WHEN GRAY TURNS TO HER FIANCE'S FRIENDS FOR EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, SHE DISCOVERS THAT THERE WERE A FEW THINGS SHE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT HER LATE BEAU. SHE ALSO STARTS TO DEVELOP FEELINGS FOR ONE OF HIS FRIENDS.
Amazon.com:
Jennifer Garner's lips grow more Angelina-esque every year. In the romantic comedy Catch and Release, Garner (Alias, 13 Going On 30) plays Gray Wheeler, a young woman whose fiance dies unexpectedly before the wedding, leaving Gray unable to afford her home--so she moves in with her fiance's best friends, Sam (Kevin Smith, director of Clerks and Dogma) and Dennis (Sam Jaeger, Lucky Number Slevin). But the presence of another old friend named Fritz (Timothy Olyphant, Deadwood) leads to the unveiling of a secret: Gray's fiance had a child with another woman. Catch and Release lacks the clear story structure that most romantic comedies are built on, but trades it for a richer sense of the ambiguities of human relationships. Garner, though lovely and personable, is a bit bland--fortunately, she's surrounded by actors with all kinds of edges, including Smith (who shows an unexpected and uncloying earnest side), Fiona Shaw (from the Harry Potter movies) as the fiance's grieving mother, and Juliette Lewis (Cape Fear), who demonstrates once again her powers as a fearless and surprising actress. Catch and Release is an uneven movie, with a remarkably elegant visual style that sometimes clashes with the workmanlike dialogue, but it can't be written off as the same old Hollywood claptrap. Though a happy ending is inevitable, the path it takes has some surprising turns and flashes of unexpected emotional depth.-- Bret Fetzer

Rating:
- Not just a chick flick or a date movie
I recommend this movie. I got it on a lark because Jennifer Garner is in it and she's beautiful. After getting it, I didn't watch it for a while until I looked at it and I saw Timothy Olyphant is in it and he is a good actor.
Without giving away the entire details of the plot, I would sum up my reaction as to what I see the movie is about and how it made me feel: this movie seemed to be about not going after what you really want or hiding it because of how it might be perceived (that ... Read More

- One of the Best Kissing Scenes in Film Ever!
I won't bore you with a summary of the plot, which has already been outlined.I would prefer to highlight how this movie and its aesthetics affected me.
This movie was tastefully directed and the script was witty and intelligent. The comedy was surprising, in that you didn't expect it.I mean, I knew it was a comedy, but I didn't expect the humor to have such intelligence - each laugh the movie evoked caught me off guard, because I wasn't expecting it.And that's the best kind of ... - Catch and Release
There was lots of laughter to offset the sad premise of this story. It was entertaining all the way through.
Rating:
- It's an "okay" movie
The movie itself was a little disappointing. I thought all the best scenes were ones I had seen in the ads for the movie. There was nothing else in the movie to attract me....it was blah.

I had a very good experience purchasing this item. It was delivered timely, the movie plays very well, the price was excellent and it was packaged well. I received it in very good condition for it to be a used copy.
