Slow cookers are usually thought of for chili, soup, or pot roast. But the 200-page bonus cookbook that comes with Rival's 4-quart Crock Pot stoneware slow cooker branches out, with recipes like Roast Chicken with Peas, Prosciutto and Cream, San Francisco Cioppino, and Lamb Korma. Not what you'd expect for dinner out of a slow cooker.
Crock Pots are classics, but this one looks like something straight out of a modern, professional kitchen. With a simple design in chrome with black handles and a removable black stoneware crock insert, this 4-quart pot will go with the look of most kitchens. Besides the cookbook, there's also a small catalog of accessories such as tailored vinyl covers, baking pans, meat racks, and thermal carrying cases for transporting food in the stoneware crock.
Clean-up is very easy; warm soapy water will do the trick. (The heating unit is not immersible; just use a soapy rag or cloth.) Do not use scratchy, abrasive cleaners on the chrome exterior. The dimensions of the slow cooker are 12 inches across by 10-1/2 inches high, including handles, feet and lid. Overall I am quite happy with this product.I don't have much experience in using a crockpot but this was very well priced and is extremely easy to use. The only thing that I do not like is the fact that there is no light to show whether it is really on or not.

Like others here, I was very disappointed when the handles on the side of this Crock Pot started cracking and crumbling to pieces.I found out there's a recall for this Crock Pot due to this issue.Check out www.rivalrecall.com for details (you cut the plug off of your Crock Pot base, send it to them, and they'll send you a new base - you keep the same crock and lid). Overall I give the product 3 stars since it still gets very hot to the touch.I wish the handles hadn't failed as they did, but ... Read More

We used this crock pot four times.After the first two, the knob crumbled into chunks.Then the right handle broke into three pieces (while being stored after the third time we used it), now I am making soup, and the right handle is cracking.This is like a bad joke.
