Product Description:
The V647 RF Modulator allows the use of DVD players, video game systems, camcorders, and other video components when the television is not equipped with an audio/video jack. The device combines audio/video line-level signals into an RFoutput signal (necessary for televisions with only a 75-ohm RF coaxial input). The V647RF offers a separate antenna/cable TV input that eliminates the need for switching cables back and forth; a channel 3 or 4 output selector switch that ensures compatibility with most televisions and an Auto sensing A/B switch that automatically switches back and forth between antenna and video source.

- Does What It's Suppose To.
Just what you need if your TV is older and lacks the RCA type audio video inputs. If plugged into a DVD player, it senses when the power to the player is off and passes the RF signal through to the TV from the cable. If the power to the DVD is turned on, it powers up and outputs the DVD player's signal to the TV. A really good buy if all you need is to input a DVD or any other video/audio source to a TV that doesn't have anything but RF style cable inputs.

- A modulating modulator.
What can I say? Bought it, plugged it in and it's been working perfectly for many months now. It's small, cheap and it works. It's all good.
Rating:
- defective from start
Item arrived in sealed packaging but was defective once opened. Picture is watchable but dark throughout, and there is no setting on the unit to increase the brightness. Tried different sources, from DVD player to camera or even a computer, all result in a well-formed, dark picture, in contrast with a clear, bright picture I was able to get through my VCR before it broke. I understand this is likely an exception, but you have no way of finding out in advance. I displaced the original package, and ... Read More

- Recoton Rocks!
My bedroom TV is very old and only has a coax input. The Recoton DVD647 RF Modulator has allowed me to connect both my Tivo and my DVD player to it and automatically switch between the two.I love this thing!

- Good product but fragile
The product did everything it should but my 3 year old tugged a bit on it and easily broke the "nub" off the back where the Coax plugged into.I didn't try to return it as we only needed this modulater for 5 weeks and it isn't worth the hassle.
