For those who cook large quantities of food, FoodSaver vacuum packaging systems offer excellent protection against food spoilage and freezer burn. This jar sealer attachment fits on wide-mouth mason jars and is for use with any FoodSaver machine that has an accessory port. - Hint: how to unseal lid the easy way
I insert a push pin into the lid.Put some tape over it, I use the black electrical tape, fold over the end so you can pull up easily each time.You can do this over and over, no need to try and pry open the lid with a spoon and possibly bend the lid. Works great!
I use this jar sealer more than the bags.In fact, I only had a few rolls left when I bought a large box of bags at Costco about 6 months ago. Haven't even opened that box yet!I mostly use the bags for freezingmeat.

It is so easy to seal items in a wide mouth jar with this sealer. Just fill the jar up, place a canning lid on top, place the sealer on top and use your seal-o-meal or food saver to get all the air out. It makes things like chocolate chips, raisans, nuts etc. last so much longer. You can even pop open the lid, get out what you need and reseal it with the same lid for a longer shelf life!

Very pleased, I've had absolutely no problems with this product. I think the point should be emphasized that you only need one of them to do all your jars. I hadn't realized that when I first looked into the product and had thought you needed an adaptor for every jar. One is all you need and they work like a charm. No one makes the point that you need to seal the jar with the ring after you have sealed the lid. Seems obvious, but needs to be said.
