- it's a good photo magazin BUT...
The magazin itself is a good one, I found the tutorials very useful, it's not like some magazine with heavy glossy paper and what they call it "products reviews" this one have a realy technical tutorials that you would't find anywhere else and the price is right..BUT I can't say the samething about the process of subscribing to the magazin, after more than 8 weeks of sending my subscribe I recived nothing and after writing to amazon about that they told me "your magazine was due to start with the ... - Never Recieved
I bought a subscription for this magazine in early December for my husbands Christmas present. Well it is now April 28th and we have never received anything! Great Christmas present huh? This magazine may be great, but DO NOT buy it through Amazon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- For hobbyist ONLY.
This magazine is a lot of filler, in my opinion. The past 3 issues I've received I was kind of taken back by how simplistic it's tutorials or "guides" are. The recent issue has a few interesting off-camera lighting diagrams, but other than that...
it truly strikes me as a magazine aimed right at the beating heart of a middle-aged hobbyist.

- Photo Techniques Magazine
One of the things I like about this magazine is that it has a slightly different flavor than most of photography magazines. It allows you to examine the art of photography in a different manner.John Crippen Photography. Scenic Photography Using Examples from the California Central Coast: A Visual Guide to the Central Coast and Digital Photography AND Animal Portraits with the Digital Photography of John Crippen: Learning Photography with Animals

- Disappointed, after two issues this magazine did not live up to my expectations
I saw an issue on the stand and bought the subscription hoping for more of the same... But after receiving two issues are I am disappointed. The issue on the stand had a CD included, better articles, better photos, more interesting overall. Not sure why such a difference, maybe it was a special issue?I don't plan to renew.
