These powerful 8-inch kitchen shears cut food, flowers, paper,cardboard, even carpet. They're balanced in the hand and work equallywell for right-handers and left-handers. Blades formed from high-carbonstainless steel curve inward so they meet in only one place at anygiven position and cutting action is smooth and exact. One blade'sserrations prevent slippage. A plastic cap on the screw securing theblades can be lifted so the shears can be taken apart for resharpening.Steel-tooth insets in the rugged synthetic handles twist open bottleand jar caps. I love these kitchen shears -- so much so that I bought a second pair.These match the rest of my cutlery and fit perfectly in the knife block but more importantly I just can't do without them in the kitchen.I use them for cutting open bags of salad, fruit, frozen foods, etc.They are terrific for cutting up or trimming chicken, other meats, vegetables, etc.The handles are great for opening jars too. I rarely do reviews because I rarely get products worth spending time to write one on.This maybe the best $20 I have spent in a long time...except co-pays for kids dr visits.The shears are extremely easy to clean and sharpened.I have used these in ways which would kill any warranty but they deliver for indoor and outdoor usage.

Excellent quality, REALLY sharp!, and easy to clean.The take-apart feature also makes then easier to sharpen when needed.The handles are comfortable and well-shaped for both right- and left-handed users.Feels like they should last for years.

These shears solve many of today's packaging headaches, help gardeners and crafters, and may stray from the kitchen.I've ended up with three pair.
