The film that officially signaled Disney's animation renaissance (followingThe Little Mermaid) and the only animated feature to receive a Best Picture Oscarnomination, Beauty and the Beast remains the yardstick by which all otheranimated films should be measured. It relates the story of Belle, a bookworm with a dottyinventor for a father; when he inadvertently offends the Beast (a prince whose heart is toohard to love anyone besides himself), Belle boldly takes her father's place, imprisoned inthe Beast's gloomy mansion. - not on the condition promised...
I bought this off an amazon.com user who claimed this was a brand new Disney dvd in the shrink wrap.Well it was new, and it was in shrink wrap, but it was quite obviously a burned/copied edition.The inside booklet wasn't even printed correctly! I am very disappointed with the seller, but place no blame on Amazon.

the movie came even before the lowest arrival day. it plays very well. we've watched it twice already. lol

DVD was shipped and received quickly, however was supposed to have been new. DVD received had no plastic outer wrapping on case and appeared to have been opened. DVD plays fine and appeared clean, so I am not spending any time on this issue.Am accepting as-is, but if this had been a gift, I really would have expected an unopened package in accordance with price and description.

The movie works great the only thing I notice is that a sign of a video camera pops up in the corner for most of the movie, so maybe the movie has trouble reading? It did not affect the movie, there were no pauses or skips but I cannot understand why this icon shows up.
