This product works perfectly and enables me to continue using my Palm IIIxe that always has been a pleasure to use. The only improvement would be to have the Vista drivers on the included CD instead of having to go to the company's web site to obtain them.

I have had a number of different USB to Serial converters that have not worked properly.

I loaded the drivers into my Vista machine and I have not had a hiccup, not even once.

I recommend this model for your Vista machine.

Do not buy this for your Mac OSX computer.

I needed to sync my old Palm V with my new MacBook Pro, and I had a choice between this IOGear serial-to-USB converter or a Keyspan device which was $5 more. I bought this first, and after hours on the phone and online with combinations of IOGear, Palm, and finally in-peson with Apple people, I determined that the driver was just not working with MAC OSX.

I have spent hours and hours testing these devices. They work fine under most circumstances. They are low power devices as explained in a review by somebody else. Put one of them on a computer and as long as the electrical ground is good between the computer and the device sending and/or receiving the data, they work flawlessly.
