Elizabeth Mitchell goes with what she knows on You Are My Flower. Here a selection of sturdy, old-fashioned songs are delivered with a clear, clipped voice accompanied by a single guitar. The result is an album most parents would make for their own kids if they possessed Mitchell's talent. Mitchell delivers unsullied renditions of songs from the oeuvres of Woody Guthrie, Elizabeth Cotten, and the Carter Family, and tosses in a version of "Jingle Bells" that would be welcome in June. Pop the CD in and a lovely, simple, peaceful vibe swells inside. --Tammy La Gorce

- Wonderful CD for babies and adults!
My daughter and I love these CDs.We have 3 of them, You are my Flower, You are my little bird and You are my Sunshine. She does a wonderful job and I highly recommend to anyone.
Old classics re-invented!

- Still a great cd to get
The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because I have already been exposed to the Sunshine and Bird albums. This is still a great album, it's just shorter, and the rock and roll song gets irritating, as another reviewer wrote. Did Elizabeth Mitchell know when she recorded this that her listeners would listen to each song an average of 8000 times?!?!The rest are all wonderful, singable, and fun for the whole family.

- You Are My Flower
This is the kind of kid's album that is a pleasure to listen to as an adult. Mellow and soothing, but never boring or annoying.
Rating:
- Early Work
I am a fan of this artist, but this album was an early work made at a friends house. It is not of the same quality as more recent releases. It would have been fine for $7.

- great for children AND paretns
There is only so much Wonder Pets, "Old McDonald" and "I'm a Little Teapot" I can take before I go crazy!Elizabeth Mitchell's CDs (we also listen to her albums "You are my Sunshine" and "You are my Little Bird") are a wonderful alternative to annoying children's music. Her songs are beautiful and fun to sing along to.My three year old has learned the words to most of the songs and loves them!I also sing some of Elizabeth's songs as lullabies to my baby at bedtime and they are great for soothing ...
