This bizarre little horror movie is set in the mining town of Valentine Bluffs, which may be in Canada, though the odd, indeterminate accents of the cast are perhaps meant to suggest that it is truly a regionless everyland. In a cruel twist of fate, the Bluffers have not celebrated Valentine's Day in 20 years due to a terrible mining accident. This year is to be the first return of the Valentine's Dance--repeatedly described by adults as the biggest event of the year--but someone (or something?) is trying to put a stop to the fun by delivering heart-shaped candy boxes with real hearts in them. The dance is called off in the name of public safety, the young (well, youngish) people decide to hold a party inside the mine instead, and if you think we're getting out of this one without someone getting a pickax through the chest, you have no business watching slasher movies.--Ali Davis

- This should be illegal!
This is simply a flashy repackaging of a drive-in quality movie from decades past. I bought it with the idea that it was at least a remake of the original. Every time some production company ripps off movie fans like this, the fans get a little more suspicious about buying movies. You got me once, but I'll certainly make sure that this doesn't happen to me again. I can't imagine why the movie industry is spiralling into oblivion, but I'm sure repackaging old flicks to make them look like new releases, ... Read More

- Bloodier than ever!
More 80's slasher goodness that while in the same vein as every other movie of it's kind plotwise, sports a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from the mediocre. Plus it opts to go with a holiday theme. Although Valentine's Day may not sound like a lot to work with in comparison to a holiday like Halloween in terms of scares, My Bloody Valentine is a dark, grim, and gory classic.
Ages after the occurrence of a horrific Valentine's Day tragedy, a small sleepy mine town decides it's time to ... Read More

- Disappointing
As it was a 'classic' 80s slasher movie, I was not expecting Citizen Kane, but was not quite expecting My Bloody Valentine to be as poorly acted as it actually was. Moreover, the 'teens' in this movie all seem to be aged about 30 and while the gore is undoubtedly more explicit than it was in the cut version, it is still nothing special and certainly does not redeem the film. What can I say really, I freely admit to having some out and out trash on my DVD shelf, but this is going up for re-sale I am afraid.

- Special Edition DVD
I had never seen this 1981 horror movie because I'd been warned that many scenes had been cut. When I discovered a special edition DVD was being released this year with the cut scenes re-inserted, I decided to purchase it. I had never see it, except for the recent remake.
MBV is a film which many horror fans include in their all-time horror favourites. I was prepared to take a chance and buy it to add to mine. I have to say I enjoyed the movie. It is a cut-above your standard horror film. An interesting ... Read More

- ...and a BLOODY one it is!
No need to get into the story details.
We all know the blab and to those who don't, well plentry of reviews to enlighten you, so I won't waste your time any longer than I should.
To all old school (and newbies) slasher fans, go out and grab this beauty.
We have been waiting for this previously censored footage to be unleashed for 20+ years, and finally here it is.
Enough extras on the DVD to keep me happy, also the flick can be watched via two options.
