- Shipping delay
I was disheartened to read multiple reviewer's comments that it took several months for their subscription to arrive, and Amazon's own statement on the product page that it would take 12-16 weeks to ship. The Cricket magazine's own website ships at the same price as Amazon and promised 4 week delivery.I chose to order from their site instead.

- Best literary children's publication. period.
I chose this to replace Mamaw's annual National Geographic for Kids subscription. That magazine seemed to be mostly advertising with little bulk, and it was pieced together for a wide audience.
I love Cricket for my well read[...].He usually plows through everything he reads, then discards it. BUT, with Cricket he keeps it and re-reads it.I also love how it's written at above his reading level, so he requires a dictionary at times.
Also, there are no advertisements. ... Read More

- Never Delivered!
I ordered multiple gift subscriptions for Christmas 2008.I also ordered Ranger Rick.None of my amazon subscriptions were ever delivered. This was a very expensive lesson for me and I won't ever order magazine subscriptions from amazon again. Now I go directly to the magazine's own web site to buy.

- BEST Part of My Childhood!
Cricket magazine contains high quality short stories for children. They do a great job of defining a theme for each issue and tying several stories to it. They also do a great job at exposing young people to different cultures and ideas in a very mature way.
And, of course, a huge chunk of my vocabulary skills came from Cricket, literally to this day. I remember going through elementary school and recognizing long words that I learned specifically from this mag! I also brought copies ... Read More

- Knowledge for a lifetime
My father bought me this magazine when I was about eight or nine and I don't think I put it down until high school. Cricket mixes history, poetry, literature, artwork and creativity into an easy to read magazine for any child who needs to be encouraged to read. I will buy these for my children without hesitation. I hope that their lives will be as enriched as mine was by Cricket.
